Finding your place

Picture
How you answer Question #1, "Does God Exist?", determines how you'll seek the answers to your questions.  In todays world there is so much information on any given topic that finding a simple answer creates to many options.  Having options can be a good thing but if it takes to long to choose an option then you may have missed the answer.

Everybody experiences far more than he understands. Yet it is experience, rather than understanding, that influences behavior.   -  Marshall McLuhan

Gifts vs. skills

It does not matter how you arrived at "The Place" you're at but you should recognize that you have arrived.  If you believe God exists, then through your relationship with God, relationships with others and your choices you will have arrived at "The Place".
If you're seeking answers to questions because  there's an agitation or longing in your soul to find "Your Place" then there are some simple things you can do to help ask the right questions.  Even if you don't yet believe that God exists you can still learn to ask better questions of the authority of your own life.  One word of caution though; if that authority is You, then truly honest answers may be more dificult.  Ponder that one for awhile!  If you have about 3 minutes I encourage you to watch this YouTube video from Deacon Thom Winninger where he discusses "Discovering Your Purpose".  It's hard to run away from the truth.
PictureThe Father Kingdom
In the spirit of keep it simple, if you believe God exists then the very fact that you're alive at this moment in time is a gift!  Again keeping it simple, God the creator gave you the gift of life and prayer is the process where you spend time in communion with God.  If you don't believe that God exists you'll take a different direction.  You are existing in "A Place" right now.  As a believer you might call it the "Kingdom of God the Father".  Remember we're trying to understand "The Place" we have arrived so we use language that help us relate.  The answers to your prayers are between you and God so working on that relationship is a component of the Kingdom.    To the left is a simple visual to aid in understanding.

This simple visual shows that Prayer is the base or foundation of the Father Kingdom.  One way that God answers our prayers is through those that we encounter in the Kingdom.  Another modern term for Kingdom might be community or network.  These networks or communities might reward our skills but finding "Your Place" involves using the gifts God gave us.  The power of prayer is captured in the music video "I Need A Miracle" from the gifted Christian musical group Third Day.
